Life in Rotterdam

Well, I have been here for two and a half weeks. I have learned to walk in every direction. The city of Rotterdam has great buildings, beautiful parks, a wonderful river to watch with traffic and a language that I will have a hard time learning. When we get some sun I will take some pictures and post them the next time online.

We took the train down to Paris for Easter weekend. It was great. We went first class. David is use to that but not me. They brought us breakfast and snacks and drinks. It took us 3 hours to get to Paris. David dropped me off at the hotel and took off for meetings. I immediately took advantage of the Gallerie Pintemps by the Opera House. Paris is still Paris.

We went down by the Louvre the next day and found an Antiquities Store that sold all sorts of old things. Dave found a bronze statue that we thought would look good (ok, not a rhino). It was only 50,000 Euros. We needed a reality check here.
That night we walked down to the Champs Ellyses. Full moon, lights on the Eiffel Tower, weird people everywhere.

Sunday we went to the Church. Sacrament meeting was in French but they performed "O Divine Redeemer" with three violins and piano. It was beautiful. It brought such a sweet spirit to the meeting. We followed this up with Notre Dame Cathedral. We were watching the Mass end. A priest walked by and David said, "A priest just walked by a High Priest." There was a different type of feeling than what w had experienced earlier.

We got the keys to the house in Hillegersberg. It will be a fun place to live. There is two large lakes, a walking forest and horse farms around. The canal across the street is higher than our second story. We are making arrangements to have someone clean and repaint. The former tenants were smokers. Dave wants to sorta reproduce the colors at Winginamen. We'll see how that works out. The household goods will be arriving in port on the 8th. We have been told that it takes 2-6 weeks to clear customs. Keep us in your prayers that its sooner than later. Hotel life is getting old.
We love you all. Miss you all terribly. Plans are: David is coming to New York/New Jersey around the 21st of April; Belinda in July; the two of us coming to the US in August. We hope to see you all during that month.
I'll try to post in a couple of weeks. The internet costs a bit much in the hotel. We are scheduling the installation at the house but it can also take 6 weeks. I'll keep in touch as much as possible. Keep happy and remember that we are always keeping you all in our prayers.

FINALLY! You are alive and well. This is good to know. When I didn't hear from you on EASTER admittedly I got a little concerned. Good to know you have a wonderful outlook on this move and the adventures you will have.

Tough about the smoking. That's nasty. Go get a heppa air filtration system from sharper image- that would definitely be worth the money. Keep in touch.

Paris already! I was so sad not to make it there on our trip, so I'm jealous! Loved the pictures and I can't wait to see more!
